[Translator’s notes:  the question marks after the grooms’ names indicate a profession that I can’t translate.  It is not clear what some of these are.  Pastor Kühne sometimes wrote very small, making it difficult to make out the letters.  In some cases, he uses the German word for a profession (i.e., Kaufmann for merchant); in other cases, he uses what appears to be a German transliteration of an English word (i.e., Blachschmied for blacksmith).   And he is not consistent, i.e., using Schlachter, Fleischer and Bütscher for “butcher.”

The formula used for the brisde’s name is “Louise Beinert in Stapleton, Anna Menger in Tompkinsville,” etc.  However, I believe the “in” should be translated “of”; so they would read “Louise Beinert of Stapleton, etc.”   Sometimes, though, he uses aus; therefore, I have just translated what is written.]
